As a photographer, there is a story everywhere you turn. Each time you see something that captures your eye, the automatic instinct is to photograph it. To record history, record moments frozen in time and something that passed will now remain, unchanged. Living in a vibrant city like Melbourne, there is always so much to capture, however I don’t always have the luxury to be carrying a DSLR. One thing that I do always have though is a camera in my pocket- my iPhone. I created this series for a few reasons, one because the simple fact that I can be just a few feet away from someone- in plain sight and manage to capture their portrait. That simply interests me. The human condition and simply existing is something that I love to observe. I also created this series because with the invention of the digital camera, suddenly everyone is a photographer. Most people think that if you have taken a good image, then naturally you must have a good camera. I wanted to dispel this myth. If you are a good story teller, then you can capture and create on even the most basic equipment - in this case a very old iPhone 7. Pretty much a piece of junk. As I observed my subjects, I don’t pass judgement on them, I simply record a moment in time I hope you enjoy
