About the event

Bad guys doing good

Greetings, brave adventurers and Star Wars aficionados!

The Force was strong with us at our recent Star Wars Photo Event, and what an incredible journey

it was! From the forests of Endor to epic lightsaber duels, we embarked on a photographic odyssey

through the galaxy far, far away. 📸 ✨

And now we’re doing it all again, on this year’s biggest event!

Two day photography journey through the Dune Sea and the Salt Mines of Kessel. Join us as we

adventure through Beggar’s Canyon and learn the wonders of the Universe. Delve into Astro

Photography and gaze at the galaxy.

We begin our adventure at Lake Tyrell. Departing Melbourne we will arrive at Lake Tyrell for the

beginning of the event. We will have a quick dinner before departing to the Lake for our evening

event.

There you will have the option to capture nightscapes with the 501st, and learn the mysteries of

Astro Photography. A wide lens is essential for this part of the adventure. We will learn some new

techniques by incorporating Storm Troopers into our shots, using lighting and long exposures. You

will be guided with how to set your exposures and the proven formula on how to capture Astro

shots.

In the morning, once you are refreshed we will have a Storm Trooper breakfast and get ourselves

fuelled for the day ahead. Grab some Dark Side coffee to refresh you for the day ahead!

We will enjoy a morning of capturing both landscapes and battle scenes of the 501st. We will

recreate the salt mines of Kessel, capturing some fun images with posing, lighting and a fog

machine.

Once we have enough images, we will convoy to Lake Mungo for a late afternoon session with the

501st. This is the perfect time to also grab some sunset shots of the beautiful landscape that is

dubbed the Walls of China.

Once we finished our mission, we will head back to camp to have a Boba Fett BBQ, and share

stories and adventures of the day. It’s time to relax and unwind.

On our final morning there will be another Storm Trooper breakfast to enjoy and share. We will

capture some last min landscapes before heading back to Melbourne for our odyssey home.
